The New Orleans Saints are playing the Oakland Raiders tonight.

From what the news just said, the Raiders have organized a blood drive and a LOT of people are participating.

A spokesman for the Saints said it's going to be tough to take the field but they're doing it FOR the people at home. (Which makes sense - it's not like NFL players could be doing much at home anyway.)

I am a 49er fan, but tonight I'm rooting for the Saints.

And with a lump in my throat I'll be singing "When the Saints Come Marching In" - and I suspect they'll play it in Oakland, too.

That's great to hear, it's nice when athletes/actors etc. help. I heard on CNN earlier that the NBA,MLB,SEC and US Open are all contributing in some way to help the victims.

The Yankees and Texans are each donating 1million. One of the big three (NFL, MLB, or NBA) is donating 1 as well and one is donating 3 mill. Lots of people are helping.

I hope Bill Gates realizes that he can live on the billions he has and donate 5million. (Cant you take it off your taxes?)

Bill Gates is one of the most generous people in America. I certainly hope this doesn't turn into another situation where people are criticized/praised for how much they choose to give OR whether or not they even make their donations public.

The people in the Gulf Coast need every bit of help they can get. It shouldn't matter who gives what and I certainly don't think people need to be called out by name.
