Sad for your team, coach and fans

This just did not seem fair--it did not seem right after such a great series. A tip here and there and the Kings would be playing Dallas right now as opposed to San Antonio.

The whole Rick Adelman firing leaves such a sting--when the man finally gets a defensive player like Artest--and gets the season turned out and gives the defending champion all kinds of fits in the opening series--it seems uncommonly unfair to fire him.

Feeling bad for you guys--best of luck to Rick. If he needs a place to hang out for a while before getting another head coaching job, we would love to have him join Pop and Carlisemo here in San Antonio.

I think you've underrated your own team here. A tip here, a tip there? More like... 22 more points in this game, a few key defensive sequences in that game... we were close, but not as close as you suggested.

that's not really the point...

anyways, big shot rob...i thank you for your sympathies. some of us are genuinely pissed about the maloofs' choice to send adelman walking, and the manner in which they did it as well.

Thanks.

Once again the old adage proves true: Players win, coaches lose.

If you read the stuff from today's Bee that's posted in various threads, you'll see the Maloofs bouncing all over the place trying to rationalize their decision to fire Adelman. It goes from "we need more defense" to "he wasn't a public enough figure."

Go figure...

My main fear is that this apparent lack of integrity might be seen as just another reason NOT to support any public funding for the arena.

Maybe Rick could spend a year on Pop's bench and learn this mystical thing called defense and come back with his newfound superpowers to lead the Kings to the championship!

Or maybe the ownership could just trade/sign defensive players for Adelman to work with if that's what they wanted. Sounds easier the second way to me....

Hopefully all of this Adelman this, Maloof that rant and rave will end. Ill give it another week or so and everything will be back to normal *sigh* :\

BSR, thanks for being supportive to the Kings community. Although I doubt the Rick & Popovich gathering will happen, which would be good if it did, lol. It leaves a huge sting and alot of us are extremely upset at this point. But hey, you never know what can happen in the NBA !

I dig the kinds words BSR, thanks.:) You have a really awesome basketball tradition in San Antonio, that incudes making the playoffs in 26 of 29 seasons in the NBA, 14 Division Titles and 3 NBA Titles. I hope that one day we as Sacramentans can boast of such traditions.

i've been reading about this whole firing and do believe it wasn't handled in the right manner. there are numerous threads that i blasted adelman for not make the right decision in a crucial moment of the game. he did not deserve this type of disservice. i assumed the maloof brothers had more class than that. for someone to come in and bring the team to the playoffs every year .. and showed nothing but loyalty to the kings -- wow, it just leaves me speechless.
i'm very upset the way the maloof brother came on khtk today and just blabbered all these excuses on why they let adelman go. typically they are mild mannered during interviews.
i'm glad you pointed this out VF21, because lack of integrity is a BIG issue for me. Being a small business owner.. integrity is key for survival of my business. Recently I was screwed by one of my suppliers... I feel for Adelman.
