Brad Miller kissed by another woman. Ron Artest working the karaoke crowd like a pro. Spencer Hawes cracking jokes about his inability to crack jokes. Francisco García whiffing in the batting cage. Kevin Martin signing autographs for fans who lined the building. John Salmons directing youngsters into an M14 flight simulator …

Millionaires mingling with minions.

Well, it's time.

And this part sounds fun:

The plan for next season is grander: Assuming the club can cut through the red tape and overcome logistics such as parking and permits, the event will be transported to Old Sacramento or downtown, presumably where fans who can't afford season tickets can still reach out and touch. Or at least have the chance to stand in lengthy autograph lines, evaluate Artest's crooning abilities, visit with some of Mikki Moore's favorite pets – the 100 or so reptiles on exhibit – or simply offer suggestions to the Maloofs and Geoff Petrie on how best to improve the roster.

"We wanted to have a block party," Joe Maloof said, "but we didn't have enough time to get it together. Safety, party, all those issues got in the way. Next year we'll start planning earlier."

I know it's been fashionable to dump on the Maloofs and I myself have been guilty a few times, but it's stuff like this that will IMHO bring the fans back. Put a team that has heart and hustle on the court and the fans will respond. They always have.
