I extended the deadline to try to drum up some more participation in the voting.

Feel free to back-up your rationale here:).

Crossfire Hurricane.

Great band, but honestly it was the difference in guitar players that did it for me.

I told Francisco that I'd try and put aside my hatred for Pink Floyd to vote for the great band he put together. But I can't vote against Malcolm

Hey man, if you want to save the whales in the rainforests or the farmers of Tibet, then more power to you. The Peace Corps is always looking for volunteers.

When you go to a live show, you don't want a band who preaches to you, you just want a band to rock your socks off. VOTE CROSSFIRE HURRICANE!

We've got rock's most electric frontman:

I came in second in my last draft. Francisco already has last year's trophy on his mantel. Don't let me be the Buffalo Bills!

Vote Crossfire Hurricane!

Francisco/Graham productions has secured tentative agreement for a world tour with Micawber's Daddy and Pro Bono taking turns as headliners. But only if they BOTH have kingsfans.com rock draft crowns. All ten guys take the stage on the second encore.

It's up to you!

I don't want to mudsling, but I pulled this off wikipedia about Mick Jagger and although I am a die hard Stones fan I have to say this is unacceptable behavior even for a rock star. If you condone this kind of thing, go ahead and vote Crossfire Hurricane:

Jagger's career took a political shift — especially in the United States — on 3 October 1992, when he appeared on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest. He was singing an a cappella version of Bob Marley's "War," which he intended as a protest over the sexual abuse in the Roman Catholic Church, by changing the lyric "racism" to "child abuse." He then presented a photo of Pope John Paul II to the camera while singing the word "evil," after which he tore the photo into pieces, said "fight the real enemy," and threw the pieces towards the camera. Almost immediately, NBC's switchboard was jammed with thousands of complaints. In the resultant media fury, he was booed off stages and heckled by audiences. His records were destroyed, and radio stations refused to play his songs.

more on Jagger:

On 27 June 1995, Jagger was arrested by L.A. Vice officers in a residential area not far from Sunset Boulevard for misdemeanour lewd conduct in a public place with Hollywood prostitute Divine Brown. He pleaded no contest to the charges. He was fined $1,180 (£800), placed on two years' summary probation, and was ordered to complete an AIDS education program.

Gosh Mick... What were you thinking!??

????????

You're kidding, right? I really don't think a silly little TDOS draft about a fantasy rock band needs to start turning into the National Enquirer. Do you?

Sorry but the mudslinging made my choice very easy... I'll be heading to see the Crossfire Hurricane concert.

EDIT: I owe Francisco an apology. I over-reacted to his mudslinging and blew things out of all proportion. Mea culpa, Francisco... If I had taken more than a nanosecond to think before typing, I would have simply pointed out that you were talking about Sinead O'Connor and Hugh Grant and NOT Mick Jagger. Sorry if I spoiled the joke...

Good begging, NME. Besides, your competitor is mudslinging on Jagger. And, I don't even like Mick Jagger. :p

funny I thought the Sinead and Hugh Grant outtakes were obviously facetious... oops.

Yes this was meant entirely in jest and I guess I'm a little miffled anyone would think any of it was a genuine mudsling.

Oh well

Not to people who weren't old enough to remember them, which might actually be quite a few people around here... Maybe I'm just overly-sensitive to intentional distortion of facts to try and make someone look bad... That's why I mentioned the National Enquirer, which has made itself the stereotypical leader in yellow journalism.

well, I'm sorry.

Everyone: Sinead Oconnor tore up a picture of the Pope on SNL a long a time ago which didn't go over quite how she hoped, and Hugh Grant had a famous encounter with a hollywood blvd hooker which resulted in a pretty famous Jay Leno appearance where Jay said "WHAT were you thinking".

I thought both these episodes were well known enought that my "mudslinging" would be seen as campy - and playing on the Bono goody-two-shoes thing that NME was capping on.

It was all in fun. I am a bigger Stones fan than anybody. Sorry the joke missed the mark.

I know. Joke was just a bit out of place.

I still vote for your band. I would LOVE to see them live.

This is why I have to keep my day job I guess lol.

I almost inserted bogus Jagger links to much worse stuff - but more famous so it would have been maybe more obvious that I was kidding - but I guess the comedic premise just wasn't happening.

Bono, Young and Sting - the Farm Aid/Live Aid/you name it aid, socially conscious dudes - assigning false crimes to the opponent in a silly TDOS fantasy draft... I thought it was funny and ridiculous. And I thought my Stones affection was clear from Keith anchoring my other band - with a Stones song as the theme for the other band (Can't You Hear Me Knocking) and Charlie Watts in this band .... I am as Stones fan as Stones fans come.

That's why Seinfeld does comedy, and I commute to the office.

Truly sorry if I offended anyone.

Desperation bump for the Godfather of Grunge and his pals.

Right is right. Do the right thing. Vote Pro Bono!

Mick Jagger said in an interview with Larry King that he hates web chatroom dorks, baby ducks, and apple pie.

Aww come on, I sat on a one vote lead for the last two full days, and then some sniper swoops in to tie it up in the final couple hours! :p

Now what?
