All-Star
When you ask who is the NBA all time scoring leader? The answer is LBJ at 43,338 points.

But when you ask who is this years scoring leader? The answer is Luka at 33.5 points per game.

Why is the season leader per game and not total points?

Lets ask AI!

Since the NBA switched from awarding the scoring title based on total points to points per game (PPG) in the 1969–70 season, there have been 14 instances where the official scoring champion did not lead the league in total points scored.

I'm a bit confused by your question setup with LBJ being all time leading scorer but Luka being this year's scoring leader. What does one have to do with the other? Did I miss something?

He's showing that all time uses total points while year to year uses per game for some reason.

You mean as opposed to year to year also using total points and not PPG? Gotcha. Thanks. I didn't quite get that from the initial question setup. It was mentioned, but then the "why" question asked after didn't match the tabular results and I was just lost on where the post was really trying to go.
