The Kings reportedly are unwilling to include Keegan Murray in any potential trade for Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam and are also reluctant to pay the two-time All-NBA forward a max contract.

If this is true, Lavine would be off the table. Teams are looking at the CBA and realizing how hard it will be to build a team around 3 max players. The path to adding a fourth impact player seems unclear

Monte made a play for Beal. If he's willing to do that that's all you need to know. He literally tried to trade for by far the worst contract in the league haha. This is called saving face. Also, per that report Siakam is looking at 50 million a year. Siakam is getting money, Monte couldn't be that naive.

Yeah, as I've been saying, we're not trading for a third max guy, unless he pretty much vaults us into title contention right away. LaVine/Beal/Siakam do not do that. Just because we checked in on Beal, doesn't mean we were actually trying to trade for him.

And look how poorly that's turned out for the Suns. Backfired straight away and is tanking one of their precious seasons while KD is still at the top of his game.

The one thing about the fear of him being a rental, there will not be many teams that can give Siakam 40+ mil in free agency. The projected teams with big space are: Detroit, Sixers, Spurs, Magic and then maybe Indiana. Spurs and Magic don’t make sense. Does he at 29/30 want to play for Detroit? Seems unlikely. Sixers are a threat and the Pacers could be but they would have to decline Bruce Brown’s option. So in other words, if Monte really wants him, his chances of re-signing are pretty good assuming they are not hearing hell no already.

Lets put this Beal stuff to rest. Either it's legit or Shams is wrong or lied.

Why is Monte even checking on these players then if salary was an issue to that degree? Even if he should we've yet to hear rumors of the defensive role players the team needs being targets. No, it's Beal, Siakam, OG.

There is a difference between the Kings and a team like the Suns making that type of move, the Suns timeline is obviously much shorter strictly because of age. I agree, the Kings should make sure the impact is there with any deal but the Kings aren't in the same position of desperation as the Suns were.
