Trading for Deron Williams makes a lot of sense if you covet Rudy Gay and fire your coach despite obvious progress.

Give Ty Corbin (and healthy DeMarcus Cousins) a few weeks to adjust.

Not only did DeMarcus Cousins total 56 points and 25 rebounds in his first two games back, but he helped Rudy Gay get back on track as well. Gay was looking like his old (inefficient) self while Cousins was out, but shot 17-for-30 against the Bucks and Lakers. The Kings are a plus-18.4 points per 100 possessions with the pair on the floor.

They have gambled a lot on the idea that their plan is superior to the results. If they don't stick the landing on the next hire to replace coach Mike Malone, and I mean hard, they'll be smashed into smithereens.

The Kings have been getting a lot of calls from playoff teams about guard Ben McLemore, but they aren’t interested in trading him.

The Kings have to be relieved to see DeMarcus Cousins bounce back from that scary 10-game absence with a quick 56 points and 25 boards in two games. Allow us now to sneak in one more mention of Peja Stojakovic's jersey retirement before we return to the Mike Malone story and potential replacements.

We've gone from losing without DeMarcus to barely winning with DeMarcus. What a difference a coach makes!
