Calling for the ball in the post? Taking wide-open jumpers, and hitting them? Who put #6's brain into #21's body? Penicherio not only has a shot at a career scoring high, but actually cracking the double-figures mark. Do you think she can actually do it?

I believe that Ticha will continue to be a team leader by example. So, yes, I think she may very well average 10 pts per game.

Yes she will

...I swear to goodness this is ODU Penicheiro, who right now is around what she averaged for her career in college. To borrow a tagline from a previous lame marketing campaign for the league...This is who she is...

The Penicheiro we've seen since her rookie year is the one I didn't recognize, this one looks familiar, except her jump shot is much filthier. Whatever they did to fix that needs to be bottled and administered to some other members of this roster as an IV.

The other thing I think is imminent? The triple double I said she'd have before her career was done. My first call ever to Monarchs Talk was in 98 for the last show of the season. Host Brian Wheeler asked what fans were excited about coming into the next season despite the record in 98. I told him I though with her ability to rebound, drive to the basket and dish the ball, the Monarchs' young point guard would be the first to get a triple double in this league in 99. I'm cool with it happening 10 years later... and her not being the first...;)

But there is no doubt in my mind that Ticha will hit the double figure ppg mark. Zero.

Answer still yes from this precinct.

She is hitting double figures now doing nothing more than shooting when she has the best available shot of her teammates in the offense. For the most part this season, it hasn't been because she felt like going jack crazy on some teams. Which is I guess me saying I don't think she's really even "trying" to score 10+ right now, it's naturally occuring. And with as much emotion as she was playing with last night, she's having fun with it.

I can totally see her finishing the season with minimum somewhere between 9.5-10.5 ppg.

Are all those stats building, considering she may be playing less minutes?
With the Monarch's, play by commitee philosophy?
If so, all the more impressive.

I just know we all protested when she had to leave the game last night,
She was in such a groove & her passing was old school at best!
Like Ticha of back in the day...fun to watch:)

I vote "yes". As MBF pointed out, an overwhelming majority of Ticha's shots have been very good looks. It's not as though she's pulled a Sue Bird or Lindsey Harding by forcing a bunch of shots to get her points. She has become quite the efficient scorer.

She's shooting 42/96 (.438) on the season which isn't too shabby. I'm loving her aggressiveness and confidence this season. It's great to hear the folks in my section cheering Ticha instead of complaining about her tentativeness.

Go Ticha!
