Opposing scout sizes up Kings

OK scouting review, but a little thin. He made some good points but he swung and missed on these:

1) Does not know Hughley was always at Pete Newell's big man camp. Have you seen Cousins footwork?

2) Seems to miss the fact that Donte can defend pretty well, you know that half of the game when the other team has the ball:) (Does anybody remember Donte covering Lebron and Kobe last year? He did a good job.

3) He must think Whiteside will be a non-factor. (Which is wrong, this young man will come in and make the paint his own)

4) Totaly discounts Cisco due to the injuries.

5) Ignores players 9 through 14.

6) Also seems to dump on Dalembert who has how many coaches in Philly?

On second thought his report sucks:)

Not a big fan of this article. I could really care less what he thinks about the team. What I didn't like though is how he mentioned JT wants the ball? I don't recall that happening.

He has some salient points, but he could expand on some of them. Greene has been chastised for poor shot selection and being invisible in the past, much like Radmanovic, but he has more potent offensive potential and the defensive comparisons between the two aren't even close. I agree that he might be a "big" in the conventional sense as he doesn't rebound that well and doesn't bang inside much, but his value lies in his offensive and defensive versatility, a la Sheed/Odom, if he reaches that potential.

Brings up the fact Dalembert is not much of a leader, but his impact is very good for a secondary player--does your quintessential paint patrolling stuff, has athleticism to board and score around the basket. That's all you want out of your big man. I see Whiteside as a similar breed, actually--blocks shots, rebound, dunk off passes, show signs of a mid-range J occasionally. That's why I'm high on both. I share his sentiments about Casspi's toughness and he has underrated basketball instincts which is why he was able to make a pretty big impact last year for us, but with behind-the-scene grumblings a la Rudy Fernandez his play might be primed for a fall.
