Ongoing Tennis Rap

For those of you who don't think Nadal is a force in men's tennis, if there still is somebody, then just pick up this headline from Dubai.

Guy is just comin back from an injury and takes it to the fabled and seemingly invincable first seed, Roger Federer in short order. I think Nadal is clearly setting the stage for an interesting rivalry in men's tennis...

And how about word that Sampras finally getting bored w/ the good life and wants in on Team Tennis. Sacramento wants him...

And Mauresmo unable to hold off Petrova and get to the top of the mountain. Never was a Mauresmo fan until she dealt so tactfully w/ Henin Hardenne walking off the court in midmatch during the Australian final...

I love Raf, I was very happy to hear that he beat Federer. I have confidence that he'll win the French in May/June especially as he was just coming off his injury.
I heard that Borg is selling his Wimbledon trophies because of some very bad business decisions. That is so sad:( I think I'd find other things to sell before I'd let those go.
As far as Sampras goes, I had a feeling that was coming. he was too good to stay gone forever.
Mauresmo is a major choker. If Justine hadn't retired from the match then I doubt she would have won but then so was Clijsters and she finally did it so who knows.
I'm looking forward to the French although as usual the Americans will probably be awful. They just don't like that red clay.:(

Agreed on the Borg issue, Loop. Very sad outcome for a guy who seemingly transcended the sport back in his Era only to have it end w/ this type of sordid meltdown...

It's great to see Agassi back playing in the Pacific Life open this week. He won his first round match against Goldstein. I missed him in Australia:(
He also is trying to get a group together to buy Borg's Wimbledon trophies so they don't get into the wrong hands and hopefully they can be put in a museum. Good for him!:)
