(Non-Monarchs) Sparks trade Willis to N.Y.

Nothing to do with the Monarchs, but since they are going to play the L.A. Sparks tonight, I thought that the following news might be of some interest.

For those haven't yet heard, the L.A. Sparks made a trade yesterday. The Sparks traded guard Lisa Willis to the N.Y. Liberty, in exchange for guard Sherrill Baker.

I don't know that much about either player (except that they were both first-round picks in the 2006 Draft), but maybe some of you have more insight than I do about this.

Will this trade have an impact in tonight's game?

Willis was a terrifc player at UCLA along with Nikki Blue and Noelle Quinn. They would have been world beaters if they had a better coach than KO. SO I think if NY uses her right (and they do need another shooter), they could have made a great trade.

For tonight? Not sure she will be in the flow much--the Libs have been playing well and not sure they will want to disrupt that.
