(Non-Monarchs) - Lady Vols lose again!

Thursday night, Tennessee lost 66-63, to the University of Kentucky. The last time UK beat the Lady Vols was 20 years ago.

And for the first time in nine years, the Lady Vols have lost back-to-back games. For some other colleges, that would not be a concern, but for the Vols, their fans, and coach Pat Summitt, that's a slump!

Ironically, Kentucky's head coach is Mickie DeMoss, who once served as Summitt's longtime assistant coach.

I'm sure Pat Summitt will whip them back into winning

I would have thought the whippin' would have already had them in shape for the game against Kentucky. The Wildcats are an up and coming program under DeMoss for sure from what I've seen of them the last couple of years - but not THAT up and coming that they should have been able to break the drought. I would strongly suggest to the Lady Vols that they get their act together soon or it's not gonna be much fun in and around Rocky Top.

I heard about this loss to Kentucky on the hourly sports report on KNBR the sports talk radio station in the Bay Area (THE Sports Leader if you're to believe their hype ;)) I was both stunned that Tenn had lost again and that it had risen to such national prominence that it made that radio sports update on the West coast.

Perhaps the sudden loss of their point guard --- somebody named Gatewood --- may have had a bigger effect on the Lady Vols than we imagined?

This Gatewood gal quit Tennessee and recently transferred to the Univ. of Maryland.
