No R2 pick in 2007..

USA Today - Orlando decided on Friday that it would not use a second round pick, the 50th overall, so the pick will go the Charlotte Bobcats .

Charlotte was owed a second-round pick from Sacramento as compensation for the trade last year which sent guard Jason Hart to the Kings.

By passing on it this year, Orlando will get Sacramento's second-round pick in 2007.

Be nice if we could pick one up for 2007 in a future trade. While it's not horrible that we might not have it for the 3rd straight year, it'd be nice, because you could pick up a solid roleplayer. I like next years draft class.

Examples of what I mean this year; Curtis Stinson/David Noel/Bobby Jones/Rashad Anderson/Justin Williams. Noel/Stinson may not get drafted, but I hope and think they should.

As far as I know, we owe one both to Orlando (Christie deal) and Charlotte (Hart). Since Orlando didn't want it this year--I guess they had first pick--it goes to Charlotte. Then it goes to Orlando next year?

And I'm still for picking up one or two second rounders this year. There's a couple steals out to be had, I'm convinced. As far as I'm concered, we could replace KT, Hart, Corliss, and Potapenko with second rounders. At least we'd have an interesting future, and salary cap space ;)

couple of possible good players in this years 2nd round...

I wouldnt mind wasting a 2nd rounder on one of these

Darius Washington

Allan Ray

Taj Gray

I especially like D. Washington, reminds me a little of Devin Harris...

I still like the idea of drafting Hassan Adams and molding him after Artest, so that when Ron Ron bolts for NY in a couple years, we'll at least have his protege as a defensive presence on the perimeter.

Why is it a default Ron will bolt for the Knicks in a couple years? Who knows how the situation could be here in 2008. Along with him in his recent interview with News10.

Yes, he is from NY and has said he'd like to play for them someday, but that doesn't mean in 2 years. Or maybe at all. Especially with the Knicks and their rebuilding process with Frye/Curry as their two building blocks (as Isiah said), along with Ron's passion to win a championship. Not only that, but as long as one/two/all of Marbury/Francis/Curry are there, how much is Ron going to get the ball? I'd say not too much. Larry Brown won't be there in 2008 too.

Besides, unless he is willing to take the minimum in 2008, the Knicks won't have any cap space. Thank you again Isiah. BTW, I wonder if Petrie calls him every day to see how he feels about Kenny Thomas for Channing Frye and two first round picks.

Hey, Isiah could of had Ron a week or two before Sac did the deal for him. He didn't want to give up Frye, as Walsh asked for, and Isiah backed out. Walsh moved on, or back, to us/others.

That was only half serious.

Anthough on a truly serious note, as much as I love the way Ron's played here and how he's fit in, I'm not entirely convinced he'll be here for the long run based on his track record so far.

Ha, okay..

But on being here for long... with Indy, that was a total different situation, and it was best for him and the team to move on. Despite all that he said - he realized into the season, it just wasn't going to work. I tend to agree.

Oh no, I completely agree with you. But Indy should make it out OK because they had Granger waiting in the wings. I think it would be wise for us to consider doing ths same, just in case.
