A Nets insider calls
Kidd's wife "nuisance"

NEW YORK DAILY NEWS

Jason Kidd wears No. 5 on the court, but in the New Jersey Nets' locker room, his spurned spouse is derisively known as "Five-0."

Kidd's teammates saddled Joumana Kidd with the street handle for the police because she was a busybody who snooped on her husband - and sometimes on his teammates, sources said Wednesday.

Joumana Kidd also threw her weight around the front office, crashing marketing meetings, demanding front-row seats and pestering management "about things like the players having to clear snow off of their cars," an insider in Kidd's camp said.

"Joumana has always been a major nuisance to the Nets and the Nets players," the insider said. "To be fair, she paid for her front-row seats. But it was always high alert when she was around."

So it's little surprise in Nets circles that the Kidds' marriage has disintegrated into a bitter divorce.

An ex-model, Joumana Kidd, 34, also reportedly bragged that having her sit courtside aided the Nets because she helped "distract" visiting teams, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Joumana Kidd, who was frequently photographed up close by TV cameras covering Nets games, denied the newest allegations through her lawyers. She denies making demands on Nets management or dressing provocatively for opposing players," attorney Gary Newman said.

In a damning divorce petition last week, Jason Kidd claimed to be the victim of an "increasingly jealous and paranoid" woman who bugged his computer and car - and used their son to steal his cell phone from the Nets' locker room.

This was printed in the Sports section of today's Bee, under "NOTES" but I could not find a link at either sacbee.com or the New York Daily News website.

I read it on Yahoo two days ago, so you can probably find it there.

EDIT - turns out he didn't directly plagiarize the Yahoo article but, if you look at them back-to-back, you'd almost swear that he was looking at one when he was writing the other...
