Houston center Dwight Howard was fined $25,000 by the NBA on Thursday for throwing a ball into the stands during the fourth quarter of the Dallas Mavericks' 123-120 victory over the Rockets on Wednesday night. Earlier in the game, Mavericks guard Vince Carter and Howard exchanged words during a timeout, with Carter calling Howard "the biggest crybaby I know." ESPN Dallas reported that Carter interrupted Howard's one-sided discussion with an official in the second quarter when he loudly and repeatedly took his jab at Howard. ---The Sacramento Kings assigned rookie guard Ray McCallum to the team's NBA Development League affiliate, the Reno Bighorns, the team announced Thursday.
