Barea averaged 7.5 points, 3.4 assists and 17.7 minutes in 77 games with the Mavericks last season. Barea signed a four-year, $16 million deal, a major hike from the two-year, $5.7 million contract the sides agreed on two weeks ago. The Mavericks worked toward a new deal with Barea after center DeAndre Jordan backed out of a deal to rejoin the Los Angeles Clippers.
