NEW YORK (AP) -- The NBA fined New Orleans Hornets point guard Bobby Jackson $20,000 on Monday for verbally abusing officials and failing to the leave the court in a timely fashion after being ejected.
Jackson was tossed in the third quarter of the Hornets' 85-73 loss at Dallas on Saturday night when he was hit with two technicals. He protested a foul call with 2:18 left in the period and had to be restrained from going after referee Derek Richardson by teammates, who pulled him toward the locker room.

Wow. That is a little disconcerting.

Having to be restrained from going after an official, though, crosses every single line I could possibly think of.

That's a shame.

I'm sort of ashamed of this post, but......

At a perfectly normal/sane moment, I agree wholeheartedly. But after watching so many games turned by completely bunk calls, I'm convinced a few NBA referees are little martinets and an a$$ beating might improve their perspective! Yes it's poor sportsmanship and also illegal and could get a player banned for life, but damn. I'd pay to watch!!

Not banned, well I doubt he would try to beat him but Nick Van Exel was suspended for like a year for shoving a ref into the scores table long ago.

I haven't seen the tape so I don't know how bad it was.
