Muzak files Chapter 11

I remember in the late-1980's, rocker Ted Nugent attempted to buy the Muzak Holdings LLC company, for the sole purpose of shutting them down and their "elevator music". Unfortunately, Muzak declined his offer and decided to keep poisoning the masses. However, it looks like karma is going to get some payback.

This is one company that I am actually glad to see in financial trouble. :p

There are a lot of misconceptions about Muzak.

Muzak does a lot more than "beautiful music" aka "elevator music" (incidentally, when was the last time you heard music on and elevator?). They are one of a handful of options for places that pipe any kind of music into a place of business where the royalty fees are paid as part of the service. I don't think this is a good thing, especially for those that make a living recording or producing and depend on getting their checks. Especially when you consider Sirius XM is another option and they'll be bankrupt by the end of the month too.
