Minnesota scored as the time expired, but after checking the replay, the officials waved it off. Monarchs win by 1.
The Monarchs played some critical defense. Poor Nicole missed both FT's with 7 sec left or the M's would have been up by 3 forcing a perimeter shot by Minny. INstead, the M's were only up by one...Minny made a tremendous pass to Ohlde inside who layed it in. Fortunately for the Monarchs, the ball left her fingers too late.

Um....WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would prefer not to have many games like this, but if they come out with a positive from it, I'm all for it. 
When Powell missed both FTs I figured that they were done for, but I had to also agree with coach T that if she had made both then the ball would have been in Katie Smith's hands and she'da probably made whatever shot she had to send it to OT. I was walking around a store with the earphones on listening to the end of the game and I swear I held my breath when they forced a turnover on Minny's 2nd to last possession, my heart sank when Powell missed both FTs and even further when Minny hit what looked to be the game winner. I heard the cheering in the background and thought the call had gone against us until I heard Koz said "NO GOOD" I was stunned.
These continue to be games we would have lost a year ago. In fact I'm pretty sure that first loss to Minny in Minny last year was almost similar to how this game nearly slipped away. So this is what it's like to finally have the ball bounce your way for once?!??!?!?
Congratulations to the M's for fighting through another character building win. May they continue on with this streak and come home perfect from Indiana!

I was late turning on the radio to listen to this game. When I did the M's were down by 10........ack!!!! They must have been waiting for me because the Monarchs went on a run and not only came back, but took the lead.

Was watching the Indy 500 yesterday and saw an ad for next weeks Narchs/Sparks game on ABC Brent Musburger said Lisa Leslie and the L.A Sparks against Nicole Powell and the Sacramento Monarchs.
Powell considered better then Yo now?

How silly the media can be. They just never seem to give our Yo her just due.
Sheesh! At least that's better than the ad I saw on ESPN for Lisa Leslie and the LA Sparks against the Monarchs (no player mentioned). Furthermore, Holdsclaw is having a better early season than Leslie, so I think LL isn't even the best player on the Sparks right now.
Has anyone been voting for the All-Star team yet? The Monarchs nominated Yo at center, DeMya and Becky at forward, and Ticha and Kara at guard. We'll have to write in Nicole, I guess.
