Menace The Dennis (The Dump On Schröder Thread)

This may be something I could get behind... if we DIDN"T HAVE HIS RFA THIS SUMMER! We had all the control to keep him and punted it away to bring in Dennis Schroder.

It was brought up that Dennis and Keon have the same agent, so hopefully there's some back-room dealing type stuff going on and we have a handshake deal with Keon that we don't have to worry about. But seems entirely unlikely with how this season has played out.
I hate Schroeder’s game with a passion. I hate as much as I do Spencer Hawes as a person.

Why if I may ask? I get that Schroder hasn’t looked good here, but he’s a solid player. I believe this has more to do with roster construction. You have your on ball guys and off ball guys, the issue with this roster and Schroder is they are playing him with 3-4 on ball guys all at once. The numbers for this whole roster is down across the board - Domas, DDR, LaVine, Monk, Schroder. It’s a team full of on ball guys which doesn’t make sense.

Because he drives at bigs and throws up lobs that get blocked 50% of the time. He doesn’t even aim half of the time. He is far too small to do that. And he does it over and over again. Defensively we have better guards (Keon). Shroeder has been a disappointment tbh.

Agreed. I think if the team had more shooters and spacing he would have more success.

I think he needs to go and can’t wait until I don’t have to watch him get blocked every other shot. It really doesn’t have to do with spacing it has to do with IQ. If you look at westbrooks we is much better at finishing drives.

Schroder is a proven quality guard both in the NBA and internationally. He excels with the ball in his hands surrounded by shooters and this team provides neither hence the poor play.

He is a journeyman bruh. At best a good bench player. And he is too small. Compare him to Fox, there is a HUGE difference.

That doesn’t make Schroeder a good player.
Him not being Fox doesn't make him a bad player.

I'm not here to argue that it was a good signing. But I don't think your comparison or expectations are fair. The vets on this team demanded a pure PG. I don't know why we got two of them. If it leads to Keon re-signing at a fair price because of quid pro quo on the agent's part, I am ok with it though.

Uh, yeah there should be a huge difference. One just signed a 3 year/$32M gtd deal and the other just signed a 4 year/$229M extension. I don’t think anyone said Schroders better than a good backup.

One that makes other players and the team better. Particularly at PG. Schroeder is a career 5apg guy. That is not good for an nba pg. not only that but he is shooting under 40% from the field just awful. Not sure why you love him so much.
I didn’t say I love him, I just said he’s a solid guard. 14 ppg & 5apg from your backup PG is solid, he’s a career 43% shooter which is about average from a guard.
