Media Day fun

Just found this clip on the Monarch's homepage. See the Monarchs 2009 Media Day Video on the right. Look at the 10 sec. and 23 sec. marks. lol

I was trying to get the gals to loosen up from their posed shots and got a little of "America's Top Model" and "Dancing with the Stars" in return.

p.s. DeMaya's not camera shy.

And here's the Youtube link (better quality, though I'm still as funny looking...)

And the SPM gallery I uploaded afterwards. :)

The one picture of Laura and Crystal posing like they're on America's Next Top Model is HILARIOUS!! I'm pretty sure she watches the show, because that pose is modeling 101.

I don't want to sound superficial or anything, but we have some gorgeous ladies on our team...especially Sho-Ro :p

I was looking at the pictures again and I got the sense too that they geniunely like each other. It's unfortunate that they have to let some of them go :(
Sorry folks I just don't understand these statement.

Based upon pictures we can tell that they really like each other? I mean I looked at Media day pictures of other teams, and they seem just as playful and well adjusted as our crew.

I don't mean to be an *** about stuff but come on?
Is this really the best we can come up with to begin the dialogue regarding our team?
They really seem to like each other.

How about "the team really seems ready for the season".
How about "Boy... Paris really looks like she used her time wisely between the draft and now. "
"Wow... DeMya looks close to 100% I saw her bending that knee and she looks ready."
"Boy... Newton looks spry and well rested, betcha she is gonna compete for that 2 spot."
Or even "How amazing it is to have everyone in Camp on time."

Are we really more concerned That a player will be cut because the players like each other, as oppose to Let's say having players that have played so well that it would be a shame to cut them.

Man o Man...Maybe the off-season is just way too long.

I have only seen the pictures, so I don't know if I can make any of those statements without watching a full practice. This thread is called "Media Day FUN" not "Media Day Scrutiny". I made my statement based on the pictures and also on the team's camaraderie in past years. Yes, it is a long off-season, so it was good to see them in good spirits and having fun!!

Well I did attend an open practice. They worked on defensive drills, did lots of stretching, ran some sets, mostly concentrating on inside scoring. Each player touched the ball before going inside for the layup.
On Defense, there was a hand in each players face & although there was no sound feed, you could hear the players were very vocal.

K-Law mostly did some bike work, warmups. Brunson worked on some drills on the side with the training coach. They didn't run any of the drills. Mostly trying to get their knees ready for the season.
CP3 was a beast, her wing span is so long. I can't wait to see her in action!

As for the media photo shoot, that was meant to be fun & with all the lipstick & make-up the players were sporting...well, they are a nice looking team;)

Wow!!! No disrespect, but I don't see anything wrong with fans (especially young fans or fans that are not as asute in the game) that would like to comment on the public photos of Media Day. That is what the day is for.

We have plenty of time to disect the X's and O's. ;)

there will be plenty of time to dissect and much dissection has been done already. if there is a thread about how they've played I'm sure it likely will address that. but I wouldn't pooh pooh the fact that the cuts will be hard (note: I said 'hard' and not 'but not made') because of relationships and history/tenure. we all know this team is close...i see no problem with comments made re: the continued display.

arrrururururrrrrggrghhhh ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

luv, are you amah05 ... on rebkells ???

Well actually I am amaha05 everywhere else. I just never got around to streamlining my online names. I was attached to a player that wore the #13 years ago. I would have changed my name when she got cut.

But... That would have took effort.
People would have to get use to my name...
Etc... etc... etc...

That was a great day on the Farm btw. I will get around to updating my photos at some point.

I have indeed been unmasked. But I am kinda hard to hide anyway.

As for the rest, yeah maybe I should lighten up. I don't mean to sound critical. But considering we are in a serious fight for legitimacy and for our survival I would think we had more substanative things to say about our team. If that was harsh I will try to be more considerate.

I think folks here understand and have even commented on the fight for roster spots and whatever else in other threads where that was the context. A little levity is good and considering the changes that have hit the last week, levity is definitely welcome...from my perspective.

levity is essential, otherwise gravity would pull everything down ... ; )

but if it was all levity, it would just float away ...

the competition for spots will be fierce ... i hope they can still be all huggy after the cuts too ... ; )

that's why whiz looks like a turtle ... he's the decider ...
