Lyles strains groin, McLaughlin sprains ankle

Woof Woof Woof.

Mason Jones better be ready. He might never get an opportunity like this to see the floor again in his career. I at least have some confidence he can cover a 10ish MPG role.

Filling for Lyles is another story. Might be seeing a lot of small ball with Keegan and DDR getting a lot of reps at the 4

I know nothing about the new additions, he's 6'4; is anyone long enough to fill Lyle's shoes?

Yes, most guys should be ready by the time the regular season starts so I’m not worried. Picking up DeMar alleviates just how devastating these types of injuries would normally be for us.

Mason Jones was born ready. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a player more anxious to get court time and ready to play. I don’t want to say his game vastly improved and summer league because it didn’t necessarily, but he clearly put massive work in on his body and loves being on the court. He’s one of those guys that you just have on your bench because he lifts everybody else up.

Also for Orlando Robinson and Skal Labissière, the two centers behind Alex Len. I do not currently see Isaac Jones as a contender for the team.
IMHO, I thought Issac Jones actually flashed some ability during summer league. Seeing the dearth of full size options at the back up SF/PF position, I wouldn't be surprised to see Issac getting called up for some games during the season if there are some injuries.

You have to wonder how well these players are taking care of themselves in the off-season. Lyles played in the Olympics, of course. But ramping up physical activity in anticipation of training camp next Tuesday should not be so excessive as to cause significant injuries.
