lets take a page from the knicks

alright you know how mike dantoni has benched marbury, eddie curry, and 1 other for the rest of the season. now hes going with a 7-man rotation.

well why dont we bench

miller
mikki moore
and either douby or bjax

tell em their season is over
best case senario we could pawn them off in a trade for cap space.

sound like a good idea?
your thoughts...

The problem is, Miller currently has SOME kind of trade value (at least, hopefully). Meanwhile, Curry has little to none, so there's no reason to play him, unlike Miller. Curry also came to camp completely out of shape, which is another reason why he's not playing right now. Besides, we all know that Mike loves to run with an undersized team, using players like Lee at C (and Amare before that when he was coaching the Suns).

Eddie Curry and Stephon are benched because of their work ethic and personalty issues. You can't just bench Mikki Moore or Brad Miller because they are old, especially when they haven't done anything wrong. I agree with not playing them as much and trading Miller, but when they have been starters for this long and they aren't necessarily under performing compared to the other seasons it would be wrong to bench them.

How much trade value do Miller, Moore, Shelden or Douby have after this game? After watching this game, I sure don't want any of them.

If players trade value was based on a poor performance for a game then nobody in the NBA would have trade value. Grant it Douby and Sheldon haven't done much all season but, GM also look at how they are used and how much. Maybe they see something they CAN use.

They're also valuable as contract fillers - you know, to make the numbers work.

What kind of trade value do you think Miller will have if hes benched all season?...

Well, if the plan is still hold tight until '10 we might as well keep him. The only con of him sticking around is that there are less minutes for the kids. And this negative can be easily fixed by a giving him a seat next to KT on the permabench.

Might as well, dude just dogs it on the court anyways.
