They have worked to cultivate an Orange County presence over the years, playing 35 games in Anaheim from 1993 to 1999, drawing an average of 14,738 fans.

Seriously? 14.7 thousand average for 35 games? That's pretty much a full home season. that would put them near the bottom of the league in attendance. Around 23-26 for the last two seasons. Where was this huge support for the Clippers games that was being thrown around. Oddly enough, this matches just about the same as NHL Ducks currently draw in the same arena.

The Kings didn't drop below that number in any season until 2008. I thought the Clippers had sellouts in Anaheim?

Still beats the 12,000 attendance at Wednesday's game. Plus with more luxury seats and other revenue streams, in theory they could make more money than at Power Balance Pavilion.

Personally, I think the arena issue is a little bit of a red herring -- I can't see a new arena drawing that many more fans. Until the economy improves and the team improves, there just won't be that much attendance, regardless of arena. If Arco/Power Balance was still selling out and the Maloofs healthily in the black I doubt we would be where we are now.
