Kristen Haynie update

#1
Coach McCallie (MSU) gave us an update on Kristen on her weekly radio show today. Just thought I would share with everyone. Kristen is back in MI. spending time with her family & will be staying over the holidays.

I have seen her at some of the MSU womens' games & the coach reported she has talked to the team before games. Apparently her agent has been fielding offers from several overseas teams for Kristen's services. She has turned several down, & is waiting for the right offer, she also said she has turned some down so she can visit her family through the holidays. This sounds as though Kristen won't have any problem finding another team to play for since she kind of got screwed with Lithuania TEO.

It looks like she was putting up some good numbers overseas--so I am excited to see how she does in her third season in the WNBA, which so often seems to be the season that players really blossom.

She also said that Krit was excited about the new coach for the Monarchs. It sounds as if a good choice was made--but I guess time will tell.

That is good

Good to know she is turning Down offers...

I was a little concerned that she wasn't getting work offers. But after the holidays is soon enough. She can kick it with the family for the next couple of weeks. A 3 week lay-offs should cause that big of an issue.

Thanks for the update, MichiganHayniac!

Looks like she was doing really well with her Lithuanian team until the logjam that was complicated by Katie Douglas' return from her injury.

I'm sure she won't have a problem finding another hoops gig, but it's too bad there's no "alternative" women's pro league in the U.S., now that the NWBL is gone.

Just a thought: there's a new men's pro basketball team in SAC called the Heatwave, which was formerly located in Fresno. They are part of the American Basketball Association. IIRC, one of the ABA teams (somewhere in Southern California) had one female player last year, and I think it was Luv13's fave player, Giuliana Mendiola.

The Heatwave play their games at Consumnes River College.

Maybe we could convince the Heatwave to allow some gals on the team? :)

Now, THAT'S creative thinking!

ABA Huh

I love seeing different types of basketball like the rest of the B-Ball junkies, But I wonder how the ABA even fiels teams.

The San Francisco Pilots had 3 or 4 games that were cancelled. And that was utterly frustrating. I was hoping that the NWBL and the ABA could put there collective bone heads together and put 2 decent products together.

I guess that is way too much to ask for.

BTW... Giuliana is playing in Greece this year for AO Sporting. Erin's team just pounded them. Jules was not a happy camper about that at all. But just an FYI to those interested.

Maybe Kristen Could go to that team. She should be able to lead the league in assists and steals easy. But Where ever she ends up I just hope she is productive and healthy.
