Alan Hahn is reporting that a possible three-way blockbuster trade could be completed soon. The Knicks, Warriors and Clippers may be on the verge of a deal that would involve Jamal Crawford, Zach Randolph and Mardy Collins being traded in a cap-clearing move that would see the Knicks bring in Tim Thomas, Cuttino Mobley and Al Harrington.
The Clippers would land Randolph and the Warriors would receive Crawford.
All three of the players New York would acquire have contracts that expire by 2010 when LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh will be free-agents.
The Knicks could be pursuing a plan to clear two maximum salary slots for that summer's free-agency period

Dare I say it, but that looks like a smart move by the Knicks. If they have a lot of cap room, that's a very possible destination for any free agent.

yep - good for them. A prime-timer will want to play in the Big Apple, as long as he can get paid. I bet Lebron's days in Cleveland are numbered.

Im glad we didn't hire Don Nelson as a coach a few years ago. how many guards do they need out there? I guess the starting lineup is going to be 4 guards and a center. talk about small ball...

Who knows maybe they will take Salmons in exchange for one of their bigs lol.

Yeah, it's crazy. It makes you wonder if there will be another deal in the works with the Warriors maybe packaging 2 guards for a big.

If its true that the Knicks will have enough cap room for two max contracts, that is just obscene. Of course, I am doubtful that even one player will come. Wade already has 1 ring in Miami and they are building a team around him, I don't know why he would leave unless the wheels fall of between this season and next, considering they will be able to pay him more than NY anyways. I guess it comes down to Lebron and Bosh...2010 will be an interesting offseason.

What is the argument for Lebron not being likely to go? Seems obvious to me - what is the downside for Lebron to be the biggest star in the center of the civilized universe? I don't see how this doesn't happen. I'd know I'd leave Cleveland for Manhattan and a zillion dollars...its like, a very easy choice.
