Greetings, fellow Kings fans!
I hope you've had a chance to check out the newest feature here at KF, the "Live Event" play-by-play of selected games. I haven't been able to do it for every game, but I am back doing PBP whenever possible, primarily to talk about the growth of our kids and some of the intangibles you just don't get from box scores.
If you haven't seen it yet, go to the Home Page and click on "Live Events"... You can catch up on the past games. I'd love to hear your feedback.
I'll be "going live" a little before gametime tonight, barring any unforeseen circumstances of course.
Remember, this is primarily meant to be an extension of the PBP threads I've done, meaning it's a blog and not really an interactive discussion of the game. We still have the game discussion thread in the Kings Rap forum for that AND we have Mr. S£im's chat room over at www.mIRC.com, server: irc.bludgeon.org, channel: #kingsfans. It's well worth dropping in and checking out.
We're in a pretty strange place right now as Kings fans. We've worked hard to achieve optimum suckatude all year and the goal is in sight. But, at the same time, we have young players who need to develop and hone their skills for next season when hopefully things will be turning around. (And yes, I know there's the chance we'll suck again next year but if you've been reading my stuff for any period of time at all you know I'm the eternal optimist...) Our young guns want to play for pride for the rest of the year and I certainly cannot begrudge them for that. In fact, it's that very desire to prove they're better than what they've shown so far that pushes average players to become stars.
There are only 7 games left - four at home against premiere opponents after tonight, and three on the road that could conceivably generate wins. I want our guys to play hard and do their best. I don't see them winning more than three or four more at the most, but if they do, they do. We'll deal it with as we always have.
