The Sacramento Kings released plans on Wednesday for the downtown arena they expect to open for the 2016-17 season. The arena design includes a huge scoreboard similar to NBA venues in Houston and Indianapolis, open concourses, several levels of suites and an atrium entrance with a view of the arena bowl from the street. Approximately $190 million of the funding will come from the Kings. The team and city have worked for years to replace Sleep Train Arena, the Kings' current home which is located outside the city.
