Kings Notes: Martin, Thomas set to play Friday

At long last, a full team in a full workout and scrimmage.

Kevin Martin's right eye is back in working order, Kenny Thomas' left big toe no longer feels as if it's on fire, and Brad Miller might be close to returning from plantar fasciitis (tissue inflammation along the bottom of his left foot).

Martin and Thomas will play Friday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Miller still is listed as day-to-day, though the team was encouraged that he survived Wednesday's practice, even if he was understandably rusty.

"It's been the first time in awhile," Kings coach Eric Musselman said of having everyone available for a practice. "It's a little easier than asking one of the assistants to go out there and play in practice."

Martin was poked in the eye in the second quarter of Sunday's victory over Phoenix. He experienced double vision and didn't return to the game. He was given a ride home, about the time his eyes began clearing up, and X-rays Monday revealed no damage.

"Kevin looked great today," Musselman said. "He had an extra bounce in his step. He's totally been cleared."

Martin shot two free throws after the poke to the eye, though he couldn't exactly see the target.

"I couldn't see, not the first one," Martin said. "I had to wait for the rim to get still."

Thomas said he could have played Sunday, but he didn't leave the bench, as Ron Artest got a full game's worth of minutes at power forward as Musselman looked for the best way to match up with the fleet Suns. Musselman said he plans to play Thomas on Friday.

Long-range Mike
-- Fresh off his 37-point performance against the Suns, including a franchise-record nine three-pointers, Mike Bibby appears to be back on target. And he still has the go-ahead to keep shooting, Musselman said.

"It helps when someone makes nine three-pointers, you look a little better as a team," he said, grinning. "That's his game, scoring and shooting. He's had the green light all year anyhow. If he wants it to get greener in his eyes, that's fine with us."
