Kings / Nets Trade Idea

Kings send:
Kevin Martin
Jon Brockman
2010 2nd round pick

Nets send:
Bobby Simmons (10.5 mil expiring)
2010 1st round draft pick

Why Nets do it:
They are in desperate need of scorers, and Kevin Martin is a proven NBA commodity (although he is injury prone), he might pair well with Devin Harris. Plus Brockman could develop into a good bench player.

Why the Kings do it:
This would be fantastic IMO. We would have two lottery picks to choose from, we could strike gold by winning the first pick or picking an all around star in the top 5.

But would the Nets consider this?

I think the Nets are looking forward to using their expiring contract themselves, along with a great shot at a lottery pick. This wouldn't help them in that regard.

VF21, what do you think the chances are of trading Kevin Martin this season? And what kind of value do you think he has? Just wondering, I am pro-trade.

I don't 5think the Nets are desperate enough to send a lottery draft pick and Simmons to the Kings for a proven scorer in Martin (constantly damaged goods).
If the trade goes through and the Kings end up with 2 lottery picks and could land any 2 of these guys I would pull the trigger.
