Beat That...
How do you bounce back from a tough loss to a conference opponent?

You go out and win four games in a row, that’s what you do. And that’s what the Kings did this past week after a tough loss to the Timberwolves on Sunday.

Sacramento picked itself up and beat the Grizzlies and Hornets on the road, and then came home to blow out the Pacers and the Celtics at ARCO Arena. Granted, most of those teams are struggling right now, but the Kings did not take them lightly—which can happen.

The Kings now find themselves at a healthy 12-5 with 10 of those wins coming in their last 11 games. Things get tougher this week though with contests in Minnesota and Indiana—it’ll be another great week if Sacramento can solve K.G. and Co.

Throwback…
Chris Webber decided to go with the throwback hairstyle this week, getting a line cut into his hair ala Larry Johnson and Grandmama of yesteryear (Johnson’s was down the center of his head while Chris’ is to the side).

Webber is not only physically looking like a throwback these days but playing like one as well. He and Brad Miller have really started developing a rapport on the court like the one he shared with Vlade Divac, and the offense has been flowing well with him playing the high post.

It appears that the offensive woes that seemed to affect the team when C-Webb first came back last season are gone, and players are finding roles that they are comfortable with.

Since there are various media outlets that put out weekly NBA power polls rankings, we at the Roundtable decided to one of own. Because we have journalistic intregity though, we knew that we couldn't get away with having the Kings at the top of the polls each week, so we decided to leave them out. Here are the top five teams in the NBA right now, minus the Kings:

1.—Seattle: We still like these guys...because they still have the best record in the league, along with San Antonio. People around the league are waiting for their bubble to burst, but it may not happen
2.—San Antonio: Manu is the man in the Alamo City, next to Tim Duncan of course. The Spurs have reeled off seven straight wins and are muy caliente
3.—Phoenix:
Still playing so well, but the Kings are slowly creeping up in the rearview mirror.
4.—Minnesota: Have won five in a row and are also playing well.
5.—Dallas: Slowed down a bit, but the big German carried them this week. Rookie Devin Harris has cooled a bit.

This is Darryl Arata. Darryl is in charge of writing game notes for the Sacramento Kings and keeping track of all the team’s stats. He is one of the best in the NBA as well as in all of sports, and once a week Darryl will give us his most useful Kings’ Stat of the Week.

Darryl Says This Week:
Chris Webber and Peja Stojakovic have scored in double-figures in all 17 games. The forward duo joins Portland’s Zach Randolph and Shareef Abdur-Rahim as the only starting forwards to score in double-figures in all of their team’s games. No other team in the NBA has had their two starting forwards finish with 10 or more points in every game. Currently, Stojakovic leads the team in scoring with a 20.5 average while Webber is second with 19.8 ppg.
