Greetings, fellow Kings fans!
It was a beautiful morning here in the forest. In the past hour or so, however, the wind has really come up, the temperature has dropped like a rock and there are dark clouds that look ominously like snow... Not that I'm complaining, mind you. We need more precipitation. Our yearly totals are generally around 90-110 inches and we've only had about 42.
I've got the kindling split, the coffee (Gevalia Irish Creme) brewed and I'm ready for some Kings basketball.
Let's see what Scott Howard-Cooper had to say in this morning's Bee about tonight's game:
Interesting that Howard-Cooper is now apparently taking over Sam Amick's duties for primary Kings coverage.
Still no rumblings about any definite trades. I don't recall the last time when so few trades had been made with the deadline looming so closely. It seems to me that most of our last-minute trades are announced when the team is NOT at home, so if that holds true we can't expect to hear much until tomorrow at the earliest IF anything happens. It seems most GMs are just a little reluctant to make many moves right now...
If you're reading this, you're probably already aware that Kingsfans.com is more than just another sports message board. We are the #1 Sacramento Kings Online Community. That is due in large part to the dedication and generosity of our board owner. If you would like to help defray the costs of keeping Kingsfans.com up and running as the place to come when you want to talk with some of the best fans on the Internet, please consider becoming a Contributing Member. You're under no obligation whatsoever, of course, but Contributing Members do get larger avatars, the ability to create custom user titles, more PM capacity, and other goodies like first refusal for tickets to our annual Kingsfans.com opening night game AND the recent highly successful Kingsfans.com night at HousePartyLive.
If you haven't checked out the Kings online store recently, you might want to give it a peek. They've got some new novelty stuff that's pretty cool. I like ordering online because they always throw in a free lapel pin with Slamson in some kind of costume appropriate for the month.
Now, let's get ready for some Kings basketball!
GO KINGS!!!!!

KINGS (22-29) VS. BOSTON (13-38)
KINGS OUTLOOK - The Kings return from the All-Star break with a roster that should be rested, considering the team had no representatives in any weekend competition in Las Vegas. Boston, which stopped an 18-game losing streak before the break, is a team the Kings can beat. Then again, the Kings have lost three consecutive games after winning five in a row. The Kings have won 10 in a row against Boston.
CELTICS OUTLOOK - Somewhere, Red Auerbach is twisting and turning at this view. The Celtics are nothing like the franchise's great teams, with a rash of injuries and poor play dropping them to the NBA cellar. Looking at a five-game road trip, it doesn't promise to get any easier. Paul Pierce is back from injury, however, and he always represents hope. Boston also is more athletic up front than the Kings.
PROBABLE STARTERS
KINGS - Bibby, Martin, Artest, Thomas, SAR
CELTICS - West, Pierce, Scalabrine, Gomes, Jefferson
KEY MATCHUP - Mike Bibby vs. Delonte West -- Bibby is the better shooter, though he's struggled mightily at times with his shot. He'll also find West to be a handful on the run; the Celtics' floor leader can reach the basket.
