Being waived by the New York Knicks has created an opportunity for me to find a team to play on that will hopefully get me back into the playoffs with a realistic opportunity to win a NBA Championship. I am lucky and thankful to the numerous teams that have shown interest in me over the past few days, in particular Joe Dumars and my hometown Pistons and Pat Riley and the Miami Heat. Choosing the next chapter in my career has been difficult but I am proud to announce that I am now a member of the... PHOENIX SUNS. I look forward to getting this season started and hope to see you at the Larry O'Brien championship trophy presentation in June. The stage is set, now its time to grind!

And now, of course, signing with the Suns will automatically rejuvinate his career and he will be one of the best 6th men in the league.

Im calling it.

Good move from the Suns though...Only makes them deeper and better.

how come we dont make moves like this to deepen our bench? and then the front office wonders why we're at home every june:confused:

Because we are cheap.

And because we are not a Jalen Rose away from becoming a championship contender.

cool, lets bring in a jalen rose to stunt the growth of our younger players some more. we're only a player or two away from making it to the finals.

Phoenix is a gimmick team.....they are going nowhere this year. Plus, Jalen does not even fit into the way they play.

My thoughts as well, at least initially.

Of course, after watching the Suns lose out to the Jazz at home down the stretch yesterday, it wouldn't hurt them to have another player on the floor who can create his own offense, at least somewhat.

Other than Nash running off of picks, not one player in the Suns starting lineup (and Diaw was conspicuously absent from today's game --- I didn't check into why) at the moment can get his own shot, and Kurt Thomas' lack of athleticism doesn't work nearly as well with the Nash pick and roll as Amare's previously ridiculous athleticism or Diaw's acceptable athleticism.

but but but............ according to D'Antoni, "Hell, he's 6-8, he could play center for us."

I thought GP likes 6'8" forward with a midrange jumper. Hell! he could play center for us as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

:p

i saw that quote too, its sad because its true.

What is very interesting is that Jalen could play all 5 positions with the Suns. C/PF would be a major problem defensively but they know what they are and are probably smart for adding a player like Jalen. The only thing is Jalen has to find his shot and fast. He's shot like crap for the last 2+ years.

They barely even use James Jones and Jumaine Jones, now they add another swingman who's not really that good. What are they thinking?

D'Antoni really did say it...... so there ya go! :D

I was surprised that he went to the Suns, I really thought Heat would grab him and of course they really need the help ;)
