With the Toronto Raptors losing in overtime Tuesday, the Wizards had a chance to close to two games of the No. 3 seed in the East by taking down the Sacramento Kings but failed to win at Sleep Train Arena for the first time since 2009. Bradley Beal and Marcin Gortat led the Wizards (35-32) with 19 points, and Drew Gooden produced in the fourth quarter for the second game in a row when he scored nine of his 18 points to lead the reserves. But it was John Wall, despite having 14 points and eight assists, who faltered. Trailing by as many as 13 points in the first half, the Wizards forced seven turnovers in the second quarter and closed with a 16-4 run going into intermission trailing 47-46.
