I'm not worried about this loss

The Hammer

All-Star
This loss is actually a bit of a relief. I'm not worried one bit about the future of this team. Right now, this loss is a reminder of where we are actually at. We are still a young, rebuilding team. In a way, this will help us let go of any playoff hopes we have (for now) and just focus on learning, growing, gelling, and getting better. People need to realize the NBA of today is different than the NBA of yesteryear in terms of player development. In the old days, you would get a player after four years maybe three, of quality college level coaching. Now, you rarely get a player that old. Our players will continue to develop, learn the game, get physically stronger, get better, and get to know each other better. There is one thing you can't question though, and that is the heart, desire, and dedication of this team.

But all in all, we are MILES ahead of last year, and MILES ahead of where ANYONE expected us to be this year. On top of that, two of our three starters have been sidelined for most of the season. Honestly, at this point, I could almost care less about wins and losses, I'm still focused on overall player/team development, and honestly, I couldn't be more pleased.

This is exactly how I feel. Those who have gotten carried away with the excitement of this team fail to remember that we are still in a development stage. We are miles ahead of where we expected to be coming off a 17 win season. Just enjoy the ride. It keeps getting better and better.

I think most of us are enjoying the ride. I know I am. I can live with tonight's loss, but even I, as someone who's only been a fan of the Kings for 30 something games (you can say I'm a rookie fan :) ), can't help but feel extremely dissapointed and frustrated after losing to the lakers. The only thing I can think about after last night is knocking kobe off in the playoffs, preferably in game 7 with Omri elbowing him and knocking him down just before sinking the winning 3 with no call from the refs.

I just hope I live long enough to see the Kings get their revenge against the Lakers. I will have a no revive order with my doctor, EXCEPT if the Kings are playing the Lakers in the Playoffs.

Ha Ha!! Oh, the Kings WILL get revenge. Yes they will. The NBA sealed that delivery in 2002, if you know what I mean. There is no doubt, the Kings will get their revenge, it is already written. I hope you live long enough, too, but I think you will. It will happen. We have a dynasty in the making, folks. Believe you me. Young teams with this much talent, commitment, uspside, and quality coaching just don't come along all that often. We have all of it. And in spades. And getting that extra definsive piece/star will be no problem. I guarantee you there are so many free agents chomping at the bit for a chance to play and grow with us. Folks, we are the team of the future. Better get used to it now. Think about it...

Speak for yourselves. Im actually somewhat pissed of about a lot of these losses. The bottom line is this; if the Kings shoot freethrows at a decent clip as a team, they would have a winning record.

I was at the game tonight and the life looked completely sucked out of our team.. They looked crushed after last night. It's good we get a bit of rest to regain our composure.

Pretty understandable. But you know they will rest well. And they will be ready for Pheonix.
