If only one King gets traded...

Which King do you hope gets traded?

Simply a matter of contract size versus skills brought to the team... Thomas leads that list for me.

KT, Hart, and the bench-enders lead the list (Pot, Corliss, etc, if they aren't going to play under Muss).

This thread should read...'if only one King is traded, besides KT, who should it be'..im guessing this poll will have a clear winner

Its hard to say who I "want" to be traded. I don't really dislike any of the players on the list, I just couldn't tell you without knowing what the reason is for or what we'd get

kenny T. easily, a bad attitude for not starting was ok with Adelman, but Muss wont let him see the court if/when SAR becomes the starting power forward.

If only one player is traded, and it is Kenny, then that means Brad is still here.

That would be unacceptable.

Brad must go!

I have never and still do not understand everyone's dislike for K-9 on this board. I hear people complain about the Kings poor rebounding for years and then K-9 comes along and does a real nice job rebounding and people want to show him the door. It seems more about persona. His game-face kind of looks mad. IMHO though the guy brings needed assests to the team.

I'm not really opposed to him, it just seems that he'll be the most likely to go because of Brad. One of them has to go, and someone has to be brought in to compliment one of them to have an effective, solid front-court. There is very little compliments in our FC right now.

Aside from people's dislike of his attitude, it's also about his size and being our starting PF in the west.

I've said this a couple times in the past... with no one on the team to compliment what KT lacks - In order for him to stay and for it to work, he's obviously gotta start, but can't have Brad Miller and Vitaly Potapenko (mainly Brad, since he's the most relevant to us) as his front-court mates. He needs a defensive center next to him, (in relation to us) like Magloire/Nazr/Pryzbilla/Gadzuric. Who we could possibly get, and would help make up for what he lacks - size and shot-blocking.

In general, centers like Camby (K-Mart)/Shaq (Haslem)/Yao (Howard). 5/4 pairings of past/now, that I mean. Hence they compliment their PF, and what they lack. Bringing size and shot-blocking.

So, in relation to us, getting a defensive center next to KT is needed if he's going to stay. I'm all for him staying if he has a center that compliments him, as KT is great rebounder, he's quick, athletic, hustles, become a decent passer.

Brad shouldn't be traded if he gets back to the old Brad. You know, the gritty, hustling Brad, the one that dove for loose balls, fought his *** off to front the post, and the one who fought hard for every rebound. i'm talking 03-04. Kenny's just a rebounder, and he doesn't bring much else.

Kupman, similar to what I mean ^ ;)

I'd love that Brad back, btw. But, it's such an obvious question mark whether Brad gets back to that. So I'm still mixed on him being back here, if so, he's gotta have people around him as well, that compliment what he lacks.

With Kenny it is all about attitude. I love his rebounding, but I don't want the attitude. When he came off the bench, he sulked and couldn't (or wouldn't) do a thing on the court. When he was a starter, suddenly he was at least a fantastic rebounder. I say trade the problem child.

I think we should trade KT and Brad as a whole in one package. That way we can get some solid players back in return.

That's what I'd like to see as well, and have. But doesn't seem realistic.

I think it's gonna be one or the other, thus having to bring in the big to compliment whoever stays (and of course, hopefully have another defensive big on the bench).

Reason's to trade Kenny-
1. Attitude- if he doesn't get what he thinks is the right amount of minutes (or doesn't start) it radically effects his output/performance

2. Contract. It's huge and it lasts forever......and a day.

3. Size- or lack thereof. Somewhat mitigated by his quickness in certain match-ups and on days when he isn't exhibiting #1.

As Kings113 stated it basically comes down to how our frontcourt players compliment one another. We NEED and interior presence on defense, no questions. Kenny and Brad are both not that type of player. So it comes down to who do you get rid of???

To put it simply: Brad > Kenny

I can respect these views even though I may not entirely agree. The views of K-9 that i cannot respect is when people question his attitude and effort. He has a good attitude and plays harder than many on the Kings.

Two things about his performace when coming off the bench, 1) many players do not play nearly as well when coming off the bench as compared to starting, 2) he came off the bench very early in the season when the Kings as a whole were awful, the chemistry on the team was horrible and all most of the guys were playing terrible.

When I say attitude, I am refferring to the little hissy fits he would sometimes pull when he came out sooner than he thought he should have. The fact that the things he said publicly all seemed to be about what was good for Kenny, rather than what was good for the team. (from what I understand, off the court Kenny is a very nice guy)
If his contract wasn't quite so big AND so long, I might feel different.

Indeed. Brad, for all his weakness, at least has some skills that makes him somewhat hard to replace. Thus, he's the one you'd want to look to complement with a hard-nosed defender.

Kenny? We could sign anyone to a vet min contract if we wanted rebounds. Hardly someone to build a frontcourt around.

You're probably right about it not being realistic, but hey, let's at least give it a try. We do have Petrie after all.
