Rod Higgins resigned as the Charlotte Hornets' president of basketball operations, the team announced in a press release Thursday night. General manager Rich Cho is the new head of basketball operations, reporting to team chairman Michael Jordan and vice chairman Curtis Polk. Under Higgins, the then-Charlotte Bobcats made two appearances in the postseason, getting swept in the first round by the Miami Heat this year and in the first round by the Orlando Magic in 2010. The franchise changed its name to the Charlotte Hornets after the current season.
