Greeks vs. Italians

Yea I don't really get it
Greeks aren't known for their wine.

There is a friendly cultural rivalry between Greeks and Italians. Greeks think everything Italian is originally Greek. Italians look at Greeks like primitive Italians who can't make wine, or cheese for that matter. Or cured meats. I obviously side with the Italians.

Let me know if you need further explanation, happy to.

I'm a fan of Greek food: I worked at an arcade that was next to a Greek restaurant when I was in college and would frequently go next door on my lunch break.

I like pizza most between the two ethnicities, but I like gyros more than anything that's not pizza.

We have a Greek place in town that makes a killer pizza, probably the best pizza in town. It's a bit different than your standard pizza in that the dough is a bit spongier (and slathered with butter), and of course you've got to have feta as a topping - probably the most underrated pizza topping around.

But as a whole, cuisine vs. cuisine, I think Italian wins for me pretty easily. A halfway decent pasta with any of the various tomato sauces is enough by itself to beat most national cuisines for me.

Well now I want to try a gyro pizza.

Oh, for sure. I was stationed in Italy my first three years in the Navy: Italian cuisine is on point.
