Fischer: Kings willing to trade anyone except Keegan and Nique

I think Russ probably gets a couple suitors willing to part with a 2nd round pick or 2 to help with a contenders stretch run. He's played well enough where he can help a contenders bench

Don’t think that 26 pick is going to be any later than the early 20s really and could potentially end up being another swing at the lotto if Steph gets hurt or something.

Also the Warriors don’t really have a way to trade for both Domas AND Keon under the framework of the generally widely understood Kuminga/Moody/Buddy package unless they include Podz or Payton or TJD. You get something like a 26 FRP/28 FRP/29 Pick swap/32 FRP/Podz package for Domas and Keon and you can probably walk away pretty happy with the return, considering Keon would pretty much be a rental for the Warriors and the 28 FRP and 29 pick swap could be extremely high value if Steph and Draymond are done by then.

I’m not necessarily high on Podz as a prospect but he’d still be the youngest player on the team and the sort of buy low swing that can really change a franchise (not saying he’d be like SGA and randomly turn into a superstar after eating stranded or something).

gives you a nice younger group to put around a potential high lotto pick and whatever other picks we get for the other assets.

If the Warriors wanted Ellis and the kings were so willing to trade him they could have just made the deal Keon and a protected first for Kuminga in the offseason. Now they are going to give them Ellis AND Sabonis? Yeh I call bull. If the kings aren’t going to keep Sabonis I’d like to him to go to the Warriors, that would be fun.
 
This could already be inferred from the off-season (Keon not given a new contract, Carter in trade talks) and by the distribution of rotation minutes so far. Keegan got extended so he's the new DeAaron Fox / DeMarcus Cousins as the only guy inherited from the previous front office that the new front office cares about keeping and Nique is their first draft pick so obviously they believe in him.

What confuses me though is if you want to rebuild and you want to prioritize defense, why wouldn't you want to keep Ellis and Carter? Nevermind how big their contracts are or where they were drafted (or not drafted in Keon's case)-- those are two young guys who are in the same age range as Keegan and have complimentary skillsets that any team should want to place around their core group.

Again, this is still one of those things where they probably just don't list anyone as untouchable. Flat out, nobody on this roster is untouchable. Or they shouldn't be. The only hope now is that guys like Keon and Carter are getting held out now but will get their chance at some point when the vets are moved.

I'm not so sure about that and he still has Bird rights. The truth is if Keon is a 10 and 4 role player, how much a team pays him is still going to be very much up to that particular team. Keon isn't some super young player and is creeping up on being a veteran himself, I would bet a contender wannabe that can land both a Kings vet and Keon would give them a push at the end of the season. Still, stupid for the Kings to not just list all the younger players as off limits. Very much reeks of this being a "my toy" kind of thing from Perry.

I'm not sure why him being considered "younger" or "super young" or "about to enter his prime" really matters at this point, for his situation and what he can bring to a playoff team.

I believe that a good team will either trade for him and/or sign him and he will be a positive part of their rotation for the next few years

I'm confused. Just about everyone here wants to (is SCREAMING for us to) rebuild from scratch with youth, and if this report is true, it appears that's the direction we're possibly going. Now it's "mismanagement"? What am I missing?
