(Forgot to post this here last night)

Before there was Crown Downtown, there was #FANS (Fund Arena Now Sacramento).
It was one year ago today that #FANS was born. Even though the core group of #FANS has been around since the summer of 2010, we never cared to bring attention to ourselves through the media. Our target audience was always the Sacramento City Council and members of our community who needed to be educated on the need for a new downtown Entertainment and Sports Complex.
Although our vision of an educational documentary was ignored, we moved on to help our city the best we could by providing the missing piece of the puzzle of education and facts at the one place where it really mattered: Sacramento City Hall.
Our “human power point presentation” on #BiggerThanBasketball was planned in just three days and it paid off tremendously. No one saw what was coming with us walking up to the podium to remove our Sacramento Kings jerseys to reveal a white T-shirt underneath that had different words on the front. Each member of our group had a different benefit of a new downtown Entertainment and Sports Complex to speak about.
Since that historical night we have grown in the number of members and supporters as more and more people believed in what we were doing because it was the right thing to do. We have earned the respect of many within city hall, business leaders, present and former Sacramento Kings staff and players, the media, and of course our community.
We will continue to be the “voice of the voiceless” as it is our moral obligation as we love Sacramento and OUR COMMITMENT HAS NEVER BEEN STRONGER.

More fun events will take place. More contests with ticket giveaways will take place too. More videos will be released soon and you will be pleasantly surprised by who will help introduce our next video.
