Coaching staff additions?

...Vlade is getting his own team in and that team will lead the way and show the way to the players and the owners. I get the sense that these guys from the "golden era" have some unfinished business in Sacramento and if they couldn't win it as players, they will give it their all as executives, consultants and assistant coaches. Strap in ladies and gentleman, it is going to be one heck of a ride. A lot of work to do, but for the first time in a very long time, there is a clear goal and a clear path with crystal clear vision of how to get there.

EXACTLY!!! I would like this post a thousand times if I could.

Thinking Doug is gonna be on the staff. Deuce and Mo podcast had him on and he definitely wants to be on the staff.

Well, based upon what Coach Joerger said yesterday, I get the feeling that Doug's likely got the job if he wants it.

Imagine Doug working with WCS on his perimeter defense and that patented jump steal DC used to make. Willie certainly has the length and athleticism for it.

Doug would energize the defense and instill an attitude that perhaps is already there with the head coach but for the life of me, I see it as a waste of talent for the team if we want to keep him as an announcer instead. If we as fans enjoy him so much, wouldn't the team enjoy him as a coach? In the end, isn't that more likely to translate into wins?

I hear what you all are saying. Doug seems like he would be a great coach but it would be hard to lose him from the pre & post game.

I definitely feel like I can help out here. I'd be willing to do the pre and post game shows with Kayte. It'd be a big sacrifice for me but my love for the Kings and Kings' fans compels me to do it.

You're welcome.

I don't think anyone would disagree that his presence on the bench would be awesome for the players, but dang it, they better at least mic him up so we can still get that entertaining commentary!!!

I would be shocked if he wasn't on the coaching staff. The whole vision is a return to the Glory days of THAT team. It's been made abundantly clear in everyone's messaging
Cuz- "I want to be the person who brings us back to the Glory Days......this is a personal vendetta for me"
Joerger- Presser devoted to accolades of that team, how they played, how they were off the court, in the locker room, repeated references to bringing that back. I heard him on Grant and on Rome, same thing. That's the vision Vlade talked to him about. What better people to bring that vision than people who lived it, can teach it?
Bonus that he seems like a fantastic coach even if he had no ties to us.
