Celtics lose home game to Pistons

Im very happy about this. The Celtics are at the TOP of everyones 'power rankings'

Anyone look at their schedule?!?! its a JOKE! Not only for the begining of the year, but throughout. I am hoping that someday the NBA finds a better system for creating schedules.

They won against the Lakers, and went 1 of 2 with the Cavs. The only other GOOD teams they have played have been Detroit and Orlando, and they LOST both of those games.

They only have to play Phoenix and San Antonio TWICE for the whole year.

Compare their schedule to the Kings, its a joke.

While Im on a rant, anyone else feel like the Kings always seem to get the shaft with their schedule? How many times have they had to start the season in Texas in the last few years?

that's probably because the celtics are an eastern conference team, and phoenix and san antonio are western conference teams. in the nba, you only play teams from the opposing conference twice...

They play in the Eastern conf. Just that alone gives them an easier schedule!

As far a tough scheduling goes...do the Kings have a 9 game road-trip that includes 3 back to backs??

hoopsfan doesn't like the Celtics. hoopsfan is a Lakers fan which means the Lakers probably have a 9 game road-trip with 3 back-to-backs... and the brave little soldier will soldier on to lead them.

You're correct. I just don't like the scheduling "excuse" that some people/teams try to use. That's all. I was using ours as an example. I, for one, will not use it. (Though I'm sure some fans will.) You play the schedule you're given...some years it's a little more favorable than others...for every team.

I will admit its a fair statement to just "play the schedule you're given".

My main point was the overrating of the Celtics. I find it ironic that they have been a struggling team for years, finally reshape the team and regain fan support, and are then spoon fed a cake walk schedule.

As a Celtic "hater"...on your point, I wholeheartedly agree! :D

Um, this isn't football guys.

Every team plays the same teams the same # of times as every other team in the division (with the notable exception of playing one team 3 times instead of 4 each year, which changes every year, IIRC). They will play the Heat 4 times like every other eastern team and the Kings twice like every eastern team. Unless you are complaining about B2B games or some other scheduling "quirks" (that always seemed to bite the Kings hard in years past).

Like the Lakers (last year?), they may start with an easy schedule, but that just means they will be playing a lot of the harder games later and reality will set in soon enough.

Unless I am missing something in your arguments.....

BLS needs to pick up slack in the leadership dept now that Kwami is deathly ill.

Well I guess the East just plain still sucks. Lots of people have mentioned things balancing out recently, but I guess not.

If the East plays the East so much, (and vice versa) shouldnt their average records be better?

The only exception to this (forgot to include it earlier) is the Lakers/Clippers, which each effectively play more games at home than on the road since they play at the same arena and play each other 4 times a year on average. This means that other than using a different locker room (I think), they play 43 games at home and 39 on the road, vs the 41 and 41 of every other team.

i love how the celtics are back in top form =)

theyre the ones who introduced me to nba basketball... them and the chicago bulls in the 1990's. i would always go for them whenever it was the celtics vs. lakers in the 80's, and for some reason i'd always see the lakers as the villan. i think it was the colours of their uniform and abdul-jabar's goggles that made the lakers look evil in my opinion lolz... but i have hated the lakers ever since.

with the schedule, they are in fact doing what good teams do. to be consistent enough to beat the teams they should beat, which is why they have a league best record. i mean even some talented teams that should win the easy games end up do having road bumps, but the celtics have impressed me this season, particularly since its their first year together as a group, where Doc Rivers can't get enough credit for what he has done so far.

again they are winning games they should be winning.

CELTICS ROCK!!!! behind the kings of course ;)
