Calderon or Bibby?

He doesn't become a free agent until next season. Yes, I'd rather have him than Bibby for the rebuild -- he's young and a good floor general and he was awesome in the playoffs. I'd even consider swapping the #10 for him if the good bigs are off the board.

Calderon is a career back-up PG, he is what you call "NICE". Sure for a rebuild he may be a better fit, but at the expense of #10 or Bibby or something else absurd, no way in HELL. I could see a Garcia being about equal value for a player like Calderon.

I know you love Garcia and all, but that's crazy. Did you watch the playoffs? He was much better than TJ Ford and played virtually all of crunch time. Did you know Calderon's PER was 19+ this season?

He's still not a championship quality starting PG...back-up ABSOLUTELY. You don't give up a lotto pick for that.

What kind of metric is a championship-quality starting point guard? What does that even mean? Do you mean as good as Derek Fisher and Jason Williams? Because Calderon is better than both of those guys.

I am confident that Smills does not watch NBA basketball.

Seriously, though...what? Was BJ Armstrong a championship quality PG? How about Tyronn Lue? Kenny Smith? etc. etc........

Calderon is a good, young player. I like him a lot, and if we could snag him next year he'd be very good for us for years to come.

Though, I'm not sure I'd give up the #10, either.

totally agree...
There's no way I'm swapping out our pick for him.
