I support the idea of bringing Cousins back in theory, but he'd be little more than a cheerleader on the current roster. Cousins has proven since leaving Sacramento that even as a shadow of what he used to be, he can help a team win, if not as a Number One, then certainly as a high-level roleplayer. I'd rather see him signed somewhere that he'll get minutes.

Plus, y'all need to figure out how to move Holmes first (and probably Len); even if Cousins were willing to come back for the minimum, I can't see the Kings as currently constructed having five true centers on their roster.

Problem is in his current health, he cant defend worth crap. We dont need offensive firepower from the center spot we need rim protection... And currently, boogie could jump over a dime.

Took longer than I thought for this topic to hit the board, but...

…yeah I know he had an injury….But….why has he only been able to play 1 or 2 seasons with every other team since he left Sac? If there wasn’t a problem of some sort, don’t you think the teams that he played for would’ve re-signed him? Gut feeling (and I don’t know) is that his personality in the locker room hasn’t changed. Also, anyway you slice it, he hates ownership. Pretty sure he feels he got screwed out of 200+million. Recipe for disaster, at least as far as the young guns are concerned. Just my 2 cents.

Thing is most players on the team currently seem to genuinely like each other, want to be here and want to play together. Im worried about bringing anyone who seems to be a cancer at this point. People may point to crowder in this respect, but his teammates and coaches by all reports really love him... Its leadership in Phoenix he seems to have issues with. He says inaccurate narrative was pushed that he didnt want to play because he wasn't starting (which is weird given he has come off the bench for many games in his career). That makes me think that his issue maybe financial (maybe he wanted an extension and they wouldnt do it).

If the Kings are able to trade Holmes for a wing or a pick , I would consider bring Boogie back as an "enforcer" backup big.

But, if Holmes is not traded, there is no point of bringing in Boogie and further bury Holmes trade value.

What about trying to bring Whiteside back?

I don't know why we never played him when he came back. We were the worst rebounding team in the NBA yet we had the rebound leader from the previous year... Weird weird stuff. Maybe he's like a JaVale McGee and no matter the stats he's a negative influence.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't both Steve Kerr and Michael Malone have postive things to say about him during his tenure with GSW and Denver respectively?

If the KINGS were the best team in the league with exceptional chemistry and the only thing that could torpedo their shot at a title was locker room drama -- I'd say no.

But given where the KINGS currently are and the fact that they could use another true BIG to spell Domas -- I'm down with seeing what Boogie has left in the tank.

As someone else already said, perhaps his defense would be a liability. But we know the guy is still very skilled offensively. He's a capable shooter, rebounder and very good passer.

Again, are we looking for more offense from our front court? This team as is, is top 4-5 offensively. They are bottom 5 defensively. Boogie is no longer the rim protector he was back in the day. He is now the center version of Melo, but worse. What does he add except nostalgia? Who are yoy willing to cut to make room? Len who can still defend a bit? TD? Chema/KZ/Delly who's defense could be valuable in certain spots moving forward? For a guy who cant defend at all?

Well, it's simply not accurate to say that Cousins can't defend "at all." He's still an adequate defender against other low-post bigs who do the bulk of their scoring with their back to the basket. There just aren't enough of those left in the league to justify a team that is built like the Kings are currently built to have him on their roster.

That said, if/when Cousins returns to the league, it will most likely be to a team that needs scoring in the paint more than they need rim protection; that doesn't describe Sacramento, either.
