they didn't have that killer instinct to finish teams that they desperately need.

they've never really had a killer instinct. i think someone else was trying to remember when we actually won a game by more than 5 points. i think it was against cleveland. the kings looked so good in that game. i really don't know what's happened since????

yea i kno i remember watching that game on national tv and thinking how great the Kings were...C-Webb was moving well and dunking - the Kings were actually playing defense (even the commentators noticed that)......however, it was after this game the T-Mass injured Webber and the period without Mobley and Peja began.....i think that really threw off the team's focus a bit although we managed to survive without all those starters

hopefully we'll be able to regain form - and soon

I can't even respond to this thread... Bibby Choked? Is he supposed to make every CLUTCH shot in the end. While he is great at it even Reggie Miller one of the best clutch players around didn't make every shot/ft in the end.

Man up untill tomorrows game its gonna be ugly around here

yes, bibby is supposed to hit big free throws down the stretch...he is....and when reggie miller didnt make them, (cant recall a time), it would be considered choking too.....

We can disagree there. Because Bibby is a great clutch player if not one of the best in the league right now. He is in a bit of a FT slump, but if its 2 seconds left I want the play/shot going through Bibby.

Even if he made them we would have likely lost. He is not to blame on this loss.

I totally agree with BigWaxer. :)

Not to mention he is even missing them at other times(1st thru 3rd qaurter) during games. I don't think he's choking as much as his FT stroke is messed up right now.

his confidence is whats messed up right now

leave Mike alone...he'll get through it...don't worry
I know^. Mike is the one guy we never should have to worry about.

Agreed. When a big shot is needed at the end of a game... my money is still on Bibby.

i've been noticing this FT problem since the start of the season.. i think (i'm not sure, though) that webber has already passed bibby in FT%..

mike just has to get in a rhythm.. be confident in his shot, and not worry about it..

i hope he practices his FT shooting at the All star break.. pls mike..

I suspect Bibby is just tired. He plays more minutes than any other player on the team, except Mobley. Bibby 38.5, Mobley 38.6. But mobley was only playing about 31mpg for Orlando. Also he seems to limp at times. I suspect that ankle injury is still bothering him. Hopefully the break will help these problems.

of course this is just a slump! there is nothing to worry about!...and how in the world are you gonna start a thread that has both the words bibby and choke in it!...especially when he just hit clutch threes last game...he may be struggling at the free throw line now but it will come back....dont you remember last year?!?! he was the number one free throw shooter in the playoffs...and once we get there that is all that matters isnt it?!...i think you should think twice about putting bibby's name up on a thread w/the word choke in it!

Agree ...

Alot of players missed their shots ...

37 shots made - 87 shots taken ... King's = 42.52% (King's took 21 more shots)
35 shots made - 66 shots taken ... Bull's = 53.03%

I think choke is when you miss a shot(s) that you normally make and for the last couple of months Mike's been missing from the FT line with regularity. Personally, it seems to me that he doesn't take enough time and gather himself for the shot, just all arms and shoulders, no legs. Too many minutes? Could be, but his jumper suffers when he shoots too quickly or on the move as well. Whatever it is I hope he fixes it soon.

Bibby is not only in a slump...the entire team is in a slump. from 1 to 12, they aren't playing together, they are not playing team defense, they are not rebounding the ball, the are not husstling after lose balls. They had better wake up and pull their head out and start playing and husstling and start winning games they are suppose to win or guess what, they may miss the plays off all together. Houston, Memphis are breathing down their necks. It's not too late to right the ship, but they have to commit themselves to giving 100% everynight for 48 minutes. They are really underachi:( eving.

You can't say a mere player choked in this game, all of their percentages were down, and so was their confidence. It's really easy to tell when the team isn't flowing like it normally does, and the entire loss factor cannot be blamed on Bibby. The entire team was shooting terribly in the 4th.

People expect to much out of Mike now that his name is associated with "clutch." He was off at the end, and he has reason to be, like someone said, he has to be extremely tired. He's been carrying this team for the past few weeks, and the rest of the guys should step up and fill the void that they caused by having to sit out. (expect Miller ofcoarse, even though he was lacking too.) Barnes had a bad game in my opinion when it came to mistakes, so why not blame him? Or maybe Webber for fouling out? Or maybe Miller for the offensive foul in the lane? Or maybe even Peja for hurting his leg?

Putting the blame on one player in ANY game is ridiculous, especially when the game is tight. Basketball is a team effort, and the Kings abide by that fact. That's what makes them such a joy to watch. Tonight the WHOLE team had its faults, so don't even think of blaming Mike.

Just wait until the break's over, we'll be back in full force.

While I believe as most others do that Mike is as clutch a player as the Kings have or have had at any time in their Sacramento history, the fact is that Mike has missed a ton of free throws at the end of games. To say that he is tired and that is why he misses FT's is a very poor excuse. Mike is the first person I would want to take a game winning shot while the clock is running, but he would be near the back of the pack of Kings that I would like to take free throws to win or tie the game.

I have seen this trend with Mike for some time now going all the way back to 2 seasons ago when Mike had a chance to tie a game at Golden State with 2 free throws with barely any time left and he missed them both. I'm not saying that Mike is a choke artist or anything like that because he is not, but Mike has a penchent for missing big free throws.
