When I was watching the special last night on National Geographic, it was almost jaw-dropping as the face took shape.
I still think it's a pretty close resemblance, especially when you consider Tut was 19 ...

gross!..lol....he looks nothing like Bibby..lol...4 some reason..that picture really freaks me out
Well, obviously we disagree since I posted it saying I thought it DID look like Bibby.

It might be freaking you out because it's a facial reconstruction based on skull measurements, etc. For some reason, those always have a unearthly look to them.

They're pretty common forensic tools now. I've actually seen one that was used to identify a John Doe body and when the sculpture was compared to a picture of the real victim, it was really eerie how well the forensic artist had been able to reconstruct the facial characteristics.

I'll try...

With me, it was an instant "Wow, he looks like Bibby" last night when I was watching the special on National Geographic TV. I guess I must have been the only one...

I give up.

I really thought there was a striking resemblance. I didn't post it as fodder for jokes, but I should know better...

King Tut, i win
Um, dude? All you had to do was look at the link to know who it was, since it says "KING TUT" in the link itself. It was a rhetorical question, since my real point was pretty much stated in the first post. I thought the facial reconstruction of King Tutankhamun, as shown on the National Geographic website AND on their special last night, bore a striking resemblance to Mike Bibby.

I'm really starting to think it was a big waste of time for me to look up the link and post it and the picture...

Well I gues I'm the first one to really agree with you. I think it would be even more evident if Tut didn't have that make-up to the side of his eyes.

You're not the only one- I immediately thought it was some weird modelling picture that Bibby did from some freaky sports magazine...or something else in his youth. I can see that they don't look exactly similar, but it's tough to deny the resemblance.

I didn't want to say anything either, but I googled it and came across this picture of King Tut after the West Nile Conference finals game:

I have to disagree with you on this one VF. There is a face that I flashed on though when I saw the picture. Did you see the movie "Crying Game"? There is no way Mikie looks like that actor!!! That would send me running to the bathroom like Geofrey Rush did!!!

hee hee...oh..you guys are always good for a giggle...I think, for me at least, that there is a SLIGHT resemblance..I think it's a lot to do with the bald head and skin tone...but Bibby is certainly more attractive..;)
