Mister Slim Says: Kings head to the nation's capital to close out what has been, to this point, a winless six-game road trip. They will be facing the Wizards in what some might suggest could be a "Tank-Off." Since these two teams last played, Washington traded infamous Kings Killer™ CJ McCollum for the mercurial Trae Young, who will be watching the game in street clothes, possibly alongside their up-and-coming big Alex Sarr.

The Kings have recently completed a trade of their own, sending fan favorite Keon Ellis and mercenary Dennis Schróder out for wingman De'Andre Hunter, whose status for tonight's game is unknown. With Russell Westbrook ruled out and Malik Monk listed as Questionable, there is a high probability that Nique Clifford starts at guard today. Of course, Sabonis' likely return from his spa day means that the Kings will continue their "one young guy limit" in the starting lineup.

Shout out to @bgp73, @hrdboild, @Jdbraver137, @killer123, @macadocious, @NiNetNiNe, @okrim, @Padrino, @pdxKingsFan, @SalsaKing, @Spike, @Srzly and @TaxMan for correctly guessing in the January Wins Poll. @hrdboild and @Padrino are the only two to have gone three-for-three.

Play the kids.

Not exactly breaking news, but Mark Jones is in Boston calling the Pioneer Day game, so we will officially have Kyle Draper to close out the road trip.

Suit looking clean as hell, too.

No Keon, no Dennis, Russ is out. Surely, Carter will be in line for 20 minutes tonight right? Right...

End of a long road trip too, this should be the young guys all getting major minutes. This has all the makings of being a total ****show but the Kings always seem to play well in that last game in Washinton so who knows. This is the perfect game to finally blatantly tank for once, gain ground on a direct lottery combatant, and let the young guys go out there and just figure it out. No reason not to but.... this is Doug Christie and the Kings here.

He's going to give a pregame motivational speech about "never giving in"

Devin "Chopped Liver" Carter doesn't even get a PG start when he's the only available PG on the roster.

(Happy for Nique - honestly the dream has been that he could handle point, so hopefully this looks OK.)

I'm sure Monk handles most of it but give Nique and Carter every chance to fail. And then more. And then more. That's the only way young players will break through.
