[Game] 51/82: Kings @ Portland Trail Blazers 06 FEB 2025, 7pm PT/10pm ET

The Kings have been battling heavy seas for the past ten days. Can they safely pull into port in Portland?

I say they can. Portland has won five straight and nine of the last ten. Yet they are buried at the bottom of the standings, in 13th place.

Sacramento is back to .500 for the season, as they fight to get over the hump and back into playoff contention. They lost the face of the franchise just days ago, and are trying to integrate two newcomers, Zach LaVine and Jonas Valančiūnas, who may possibly play tonight.

Bounce-back game tonight. Doug Christie's team is tough.

Light the Beam!!!

The Beam is so 2024...
The Bean, on the other hand, is 2025...:p:p:p

Sorry all, but I have a very very bad feeling about this one. It really sucks to have a back to back on the day before and the day of the trade deadline. Plus add in our big transaction and integration of Lavine and JV... just a lot of distractions. Portland is playing really good right now and always seem to match-up very good with us.

We had trouble with Portland’s length in November. Hopefully we figure out a way to counter them. Between Avidja, Camara, Grant at their 2-4 and Sharpe coming in from the bench, they’re super long and they all can handle the ball. Scoot is shooting the ball really well too. Gonna be an uphill battle. Hopefully we get some help and they decide to trade some pieces in the next hour

At least they won't take them lightly entering the game. Have to be up for an opponent on the run they are on and want to end it.

I don't think Portland is the team their last 10 games shows.

Unless we trade for Kris Murray I don't think any help is going to arrive in time lol. Any word on Jonas, I am not expecting him to be available unless I missed news he was here and cleared to play.

Yesterday's game was an aberration. Exhaustion, mental and physical, new main hub payer who besides Derozen has never played with these guys. They were literally running into each other during the game. Also our nemesis, length length and length.
Same crap we heard after the nuggets game last night size, length, and athleticism is the issue and always will be. If you wanna see if it’s a “scheduled loss” check if the team has wings

Athletes have pride. Pros have pride.
Yesterdays game provided a lot of video material of how "Kings can suck so bad".
I hope today's game can't be any worse. If JV can suit up - very nice. That way Domas can just "bleep it. I'll play my game, will foul out in less than 30 minutes but at least I won't be a part of group of walking deads".
Domas is the only consistent player we have.

Glad it’s a back to back actually. After a stinker like last night it’s nice to just get the smell off of you as quick as possible. Our players have pride Dougie has pride no way they want to lose two in a row or lose again after that crap. Also, Not only is Zach new in the lineup for us, he hasn’t played in a bit so no doubt had to knock some rust off. I have absolute faith he’s going to be as consistent for us as he has been for Chitown. Hopefully Big JV will be around tonight to back up Sabonis for a few minutes, but since he’s not starting. Coming off the bench for a few minutes. Shouldn’t be a big deal.

Having lived here for 20 years now and watched the Blazers rebuild twice while we sank into oblivion, and knowing they at least have 3-4 nice players on tap and can rebuild again ... I can say with full authority that Cronin and the current ownership mess here lead by Jodi Allen are exactly what Kings fans think our FO and ownership group are.

The Kings just need to focus on getting that chemistry rolling. And DC needs to start looking at need fillers when need arises.

Kings have 5 games before the All-star break. Just get me to 2-3 in these next 5... keep yourself in the running until everyone can just step away for a second, catch their breath and get in a practice or 2. 6 seed through the 12 seed is all within 5 games right now... just tread water until you can start building some chemistry, as you said.
