Yes he had a good season last year. he had 1009 Yrds. After Brandon Lloyd leaving this is definitly an upgrade.
As I said in the other 49er's thread, a 1009yd/4TD season in the Browns bad offense equates to a 450yd/2TD season with our atrocious offense...

In all seriousness, I think we actually may be a bit better than advertised...Pick us Vernon Davis with our first rounder, offensive line in the second round, and we may be...uh...Decent?

-Alex Smith with a year of seasoning
-Vernon Davis/Eric Johnson is a potent young offensive TE combo.
-Frank Gore hopefully emerges as the full-time back...And if healthy, a damn good one, Im predicting.
-The young offensive line with another year of seasoning.

Well...Not as bad as I was predeicting right after the trade, but still nothing to get excited over.

I actually think Arnaz Battle just might end up surprising some people. If he hadn't battled (pun not intended but it is his name) injuries all year, he might have actually had a chance to get into some kind of rhythm.

Not worth another thread.

The 49er's recieving woes have been completly solved!

We have signed the marquee name that is...

Bryan Gilmore! The undrafted player hailing from the great Midwestern State program! Over his illustrious six-season career with Miami and Arizona has racked up staggering numbers of 533 yards and 4 TDs.

Welcome to San Fransisco!

Niners sign WR Gilmore March 15, 2006

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -- The San Francisco 49ers signed free agent receiver Bryan Gilmore on Tuesday night.

Gilmore has spent six NFL seasons with Arizona and Miami, catching just 38 passes for 533 yards and four touchdowns in his career. He played four seasons under 49ers receivers coach Jerry Sullivan with the Cardinals (2001-03) and Dolphins (2004).

San Francisco bolstered its depth at receiver for the second straight day after signing Cleveland free agent Antonio Bryant to a four-year, $15 million deal on Monday.

what people seem to be forgetting is... even if bryant is the same caliber receiver as lloyd (i think bryant is an upgrade, not major, but an upgrade) the 9'ers received a 3rd pick in this years draft and a 4th next year. a 3rd round pick = good player. so there really isn't anything that as a 9'er fan that this move should bother you. bryant is definetly a bigger stronger receiver who can create some physical match ups. lloyd was a great espn clip waiting to happen on any given play, but not very consistent.

We're paying Bryant about half as much as Lloyd is getting from Washington. I don't know much about either player since I live in the Mid-West and don't get many 9er games but I doubt Lloyd is that much better of a player plus he can be a head case (Bryant also had those problems in Dallas).
