Regarding today's deals

(1.) Regarding the McWilliams-Franklin trade to the Sparks, that took me by suprise too! I guess the Sparks needed a veteran player, considering that THE LISA will be on maternity leave for the 2007 season.

But in the CT Sun's press release of the trade, Coach Thibault said if Taj didn't want to play with the Sun anymore, both parties would be agreeable that she could be traded somewhere else.

(2.) As for Kristen Rasmussen, I don't know much about her (except that she's played for several WNBA teams and a seasoned veteran) to have an opinion on her.

(3.) Sandora Irvin didn't get much playing time in 2005-06 with PHX. And I recently noticed that the PHX has just cored Maria Stepanova, so I guess they're expecting the Russian back this year and that Michael Irvin's niece was expendable. But at least Sandora is going back to Texas.

Shannon Pee Wee Johnson signs with Detroit

The Detroit Shock signs four-time All-Star Shannon (Pee Wee) Johnson! Johnson last played for the San Antonio Silver Stars.

Two weeks ago, the Shock traded Ruth Riley to the Silver Stars in exchange for Katie Feenstra. Is Bill Laimbeer trying to pilfer the Silver Stars? Or is San Antonio's G.M./Head Coach Dan Hughes the new Trudi Lacey? :)
